Sun maintains control of Java
Until only a few weeks ago, IBM, HP, Intel, Compaq and Oracle were supporting the transfer of control over Java standards to OpenServer.org. Reportedly, plans were made to announce the organization just before the opening of Sun's JavaOne developer show this Tuesday. Oracle, however, cut a last minute deal with Sun to license Sun's Java 2 Enterprise Edition and has dropped its support of OpenServer.org.
