Strong LCD CCFL demand prompting Toa Elevam to expand capacity
Tight supply of LCD cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) has benefited Toa Elevam with increasing sales, which reached NT$375 million in the first five months of this year and achieved 94% of its predicted sales in the first half. The company aims to ship 9.46 million units of LCD CCFL, accounting for 46.5% of its overall sales, this year, up from 4.09 million units last year. In addition to CCFLs for LCD backlight modules, Toa Elevam also produces CCFLs for scanners.
