Microsoft: That's OK, We Still Make More Profits

by - source: Tom's Hardware UK

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer not rattled by Apple's overtake.

This week's stock market showed that Apple had finally climbed over Microsoft to become the world's largest tech company in terms of market capitalization. While that sort of thing could worry Microsoft, CEO Steve Ballmer isn't worried at all.

"I will make more profits and certainly there is no technology company in the planet which is as profitable as we are," Ballmer said to the Wall Street Journal. "Stock markets will take care of the rest."

"We are executing very well," he said. "That's going to lead to great products and great success."

Now there's a rumor that Steve Ballmer will be joining his Steve-counterpart at Apple's WWDC on June 7 for some sort of announcement. Could there be enough room on the stage for such a bold, Steve duet? Apparently not.

That rumour is false.

Microsoft could have easily bought a controlling interest in Apple back in 2000 when the big 'A' was only a little 'a' which was worth about $11 billion.

to be honest... its not because of macs, its because of tablets and iphones etc...

I personally would never give Steve jobs any of my money.

meh... and now microsoft is corrupted by money too. Why am i not surprised...

Their focus is not anymore to push technology forward with the motto: "lets make the world better", like in the old times. As long as they get their money they won't do shit... Maybe release a 3rd "Vista"

They are both self-centred control freaks, who are pricks!

Since he says profit is still higher, this shows you that MS products are worth a bag of shit actually and their margin is ridiculous.
