Staccato taps into Pentium III power
Staccato Systems Inc. will include Pentium III processor optimizations in its next-generation audio synthesis technology.
Staccato creates audio tools based on physical modeling, which the company claims can significantly improve synthesized sound quality over that of wave table or FM synthesis techniques.
Staccato expects to introduce several tools in the first half of 1999, including an audio authoring environment for game developers and playback technology for OEMs. Details are posted at http://www.staccatosys.com .
