SPECapc releases benchmark for 64-bit systems
The SPEC/GPC’s Application Performance Characterization (SPECapc) project group announced availability of its Pro/E Wildfire 2.0 benchmark, which the organization claims is the first software that allows performance evaluation of both 32- and 64-bit computer systems.
According to the release notes, the benchmark uses a complex model of a race car assembly to exercise all areas of system performance and runs a total eight tests to measure performance for graphics, CPU and I/O. "The new benchmark is a significant development for Pro/E Wildfire users who want to measure real-world performance for the latest generation of computing and graphics systems," says Dan Bennett, who chairs the SPECapc group.
Wildfire 2.0 is available as a free download from the SPEC/GPC web site.
