South Park makes HD debut on Xbox 360, for free
New York (NY) - Comedy Central has partnered with Microsoft to release an episode of its popular cartoon show South Park in high definition. It is available now as a free download from the Xbox Live Marketplace.
The free episode is "Good Times With Weapons", the eighth season premiere. About half of the seasons are already available on the XBL Marketplace, though they’re only offered in standard definition.
Furthering the promotion, from March 20 to April 3 Best Buy will offer free HD DVD discs of the episode to anyone who buys an Xbox 360 or the HD DVD player add-on.
With no other high-def release and no HD feed of Comedy Central, this promo is the first time South Park has appeared in high definition. Beginning today, the free download is only available for two weeks.
