Sony's Portable Five-Inch LCD For PS one

Whether you're jonesing for a new Xbox or Gamecube, chances are that you've got another, older, console lying around the house. If that game device from the Land of Lost Toys happens to be a Sony PS one, you might be surprised to hear that Sony is still pushing new peripherals for it. The company just let us know about its new LCD Screen for the console. The new screen measures five inches diagonally and gives off stereo sound via built-in speakers. The LCD Screen is intended to let you play games without a full-size television, so that you can take the console and monitor on the road. The new LCD Screen delivers a brightness rating of 650 Candela (cd/m2) and receives the video signal directly from PS one through the RGB input. The LCD Screen for PS one will be priced at $129. The LCD Screen will also be offered as a bundle with the PS one Combo for a suggested retail price of $199 for a limited time beginning in early 2002. The PS one LCD Screen Combo Package includes a PS one console, DUALSHOCK analog controller, 5" LCD Screen, stereo sound built-in speakers, mounting screws, an AC Adapter, and an instruction manual. A PS one car adapter will be available for a limited time in early 2002. The LCD screen's AV Multi Out connection will even let you plug in a camcorder to view footage you've shot while doing something other than playing video games.
