Sony's Walkman Phone Has all the Bells and Whistles
Sony Ericsson is now showing off the W580 Walkman phone, a slim slider music phone that delivers the "full Walkman phone experience" along with gaming, imaging and fitness applications. This latest Walkman phone is 14mm thick and is offered in two colors : white or grey. The W580 also features a 2.0 megapixel camera and functions as a portable photo album and pocket gaming device. It also offers fitness features including a built-in sports application that tracks running speed and distance as well as your steps and calories. The Walkman 2.0 music player provides Disc2Phone music management software and a USB cable to transfer music from a PC onto the phone. Additionally you can listen to radio programming on the RDS-FM radio. The W580 ships with a 512 MB Memory Stick Micro allowing users to store about 470 full-length music tracks. As with all Sony Ericsson Walkman phones, you can upgrade memory to add more content. The TrackID feature available on most Walkman phones makes it easy to identify music tracks you don’t recognize. TrackID links into the database of music powered by Gracenote. A number of 3D games are already preloaded on the W580. The two inch color screen can also be used for web browsing and viewing photos. The W580 Walkman phone is a Quad Band EDGE device (850/900/1800/1900) and will be available in selected markets from Q3 2007.
