Sony upgrades PS2 DVD
According to a writer for The Register, Sony has reacted to criticisms about the quality of the DVD playback system built into the already released Japanese version of the PlayStation2. As the much-anticipated game consoles make their way toward the US and European markets, Sony has replaced the software DVD decoder with a chip-based system boasting significantly improved DVD playback.
