Sony to sell PS2 Linux in Japan
Sony officials at the company's UK offices confirmed to ZDNet UK that the company will release a version of Linux for the PlayStation 2 game console. Initially, however, it will run only on the Japanese version of the machine. The PS2 Linux Kit will include a hard drive with 10Mbit Ethernet socket to plug into the console's PCMCIA slot as well as a mouse, keyboard and a copy of Linux made for the PS2. The kit will cost about $200.
