Sony to delay Euro PS2 launch?

As reported earlier, U.S. pre-sales of the Sony PlayStation2 have been halted as demand outstrips manufacturing capability. The Register now reports that Sony may delay its European PS2 launch by several weeks so that U.S. demand for the consoles can be fulfilled. Demand for the game system has been high and Sony has announced that over three million PlayStation2s have been sold in the Japanese market in five months, four times the number of the original PlayStations sold in its first five months on the market.
