Sony talks PS3
Information about the successor to the PlayStation 2 has been published in the prestigious Scientific American magazine. Sony Computer Entertainment CEO, Ken Kutaragi, says that his division of the company and the PlayStation will serve as the center of his parent company's grand convergence. PlayStation 3 will provide the distribution mechanism for other divisions, including Sony pictures and Sony music. Also planned are online shopping, banking and other interactive Internet services. Some of the functions may appear in the PS2, but the PS3 will see the strategy full-blown.
