Sony rolls out Memory Stick Micro M2

Future Sony mobile phones will use the company’s new miniature memory cards. The Memory Stick Micro cards, also known as "M2," come in 256 MB, 512 MB and 1 GB capacities and will compete with SD memory devices. Measuring in at a tiny 15mm by 12.5 mm, these cards will first be used in the Sony Ericsson M600 phone.

According to the company, The 256 MB and 512 MB cards should be available in next month, while the 1 GB version will be on store shelves in May. Starting in the second half of the year, Sandisk will also start selling the cards. Sony has not announced how much the cards will cost.
