Sony expects fall Connectix trial

In May, seven of the nine copyright-infringement, trademark-dilution and trade-secret complaints that Sony brought against Connectix were disallowed. As a result, Sony refiled a modified patent-infringement suit against Connectix last week and now says it expects its case against Connectix, whose Virtual Game Station lets Apple Macintosh and Windows systems run Sony's PlayStation games, to go before a jury after a September 1 ruling. Sony maintains that the VGS does not adequately prevent users from playing pirated PlayStation games and that no software, in fact, can block illegally copied games as well as its console hardware.
