Sony announces expansion packs for EverQuest, EverQuest II
Sony Online Entertainment today announced EverQuest Prophecy of Ro, the eleventh expansion for EverQuest as well as EverQuest II Kingdom of Sky, the second expansion for EverQuest II. Both expansion packs are currently shipping to retail and are available as downloads as well.
Prophecy for Ro add s three new gameplay features - "Spheres of Influence," which can be used to thwart enemies or aid allies, a "trap system" that lets players deceive opponents with player-set traps and a destruction feature for objects : Sony said that doors can be bashed in, walls can be toppled and encampments can be destroyed, which takes EverQuest to a new level of interactivity within the game.
Prophecy is priced at $27 for the download version and at $30 for the retail box. The extra three dollar buy a "special in-game item of a unique warhorse mount," according to Sony. Kingdom of Sky, also available as retail and download version, introduces a new achievement system starting at level 20, in which players can earn skills and abilities to specialize and individualize characters. There are also 13 new adventure zones, 25 new enemies and troves full of new treasures.
Both the retail and the download version are priced at $30. The retail version contains the full version of EverQuest II, the expansion a few collectible items and a special in-game item - a carnivorous plant that will reward players with items for feeding it, Sony said.
