With more and more mobile phones incorporating the ability to listen music, high-end stereo headsets for them are the logical next step in telephony peripherals. Sony Ericsson has announced its newest stereo Bluetooth headset, the HBH-DS980. This accessory delivers wireless music and calls with design, ergonomics and audio features that include:

Digital noise cancellation/echo reduction to reduce background noise

Bluetooth 2.0 to deliver better quality voice calls

A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) for high quality sound when listening to music, and

A hidden OLED display that is brighter than a conventional LCD display.

With talk time or music playback time of up to 6 hours, the headset offers soft silicon ear buds in three sizes and an overall unit weight of 27 grams (.95 ounces).

The Stereo Bluetooth Headset HBH-DS980 features a hidden 'magic mirror' display that becomes visible once the headset is activated. You can use it to view the title of the song playing on your phone, the battery status of your headset or the details of the caller trying to reach you.

The HBH-DS980 can be used with more than one device at the same time. The new multipoint function allows you to listen to music stored on a Bluetooth enabled laptop and handle calls from your phone simultaneously.

The Stereo Bluetooth Headset HBH-DS980 is compatible phone models that include the recently announced Sony Ericsson W580 Walkman phone and the Sony Ericsson Z750. The HBH-DS980 will be available worldwide from Q3 2007.
