Sony neither confirms nor denies report of Samsung co-op deal
Late yesterday evening, Sony’s thunderous silence could be heard around the world as it declined comment on reports in the Japanese trade press that the company will be joining with Samsung to build a new LCD TV plant somewhere in South Korea. Note the length of Sony’s statement saying it’s stating nothing at this time, With strong sales of its newly-launched "Bravia" brand LCD TVs, "it is true that we are eying the next investment," a Sony spokesman said. But he added that nothing has been decided regarding what form such a new investment will take.
"We can not comment as we haven’t made any plans," the Sony spokesman said.
