Sony cuts US PS2 shipments
Sony Corp. says that parts shortages have forced the company to reduce US deliveries of the PlayStation2 game consoles to 1.3 million by year-end, as opposed to the 2 million originally promised. According to the company, 26 games for the system will be introduced by October 26, eleven more than were expected. In a related story reported by Fox News, makers of interactive pornographic entertainment are also developing product that exploits the Playstation2's interactive DVD features, without Sony's permission.
