man you guys really dont like the mtron...
their 16 GB is around 300 something on DV nation. get 2x 16 GB in raid 0 and be happy with gaming/compiling/small DB...the read/write is amazing and worth the price if you application will benefit from it.
I'm getting my mtron system probably first week of January and the cost of the drive compared to the ammount of time you gain by using it does justify it.
32GB 7000 series for my system files and main programs like Illustrator, Photoshop and Ableton ... rest of the stuff on a raid0 with 2 regular drives.
Solid state is the future of storage, I guess prices will drop by 2009 and they will be competeing with platter based drives.
