Solarism's Ultra-Bright LCD

Bright monitors seem to be all the rage right now, seeing as we've been told about two of them in the past two weeks. Last week, we saw one from Eizo , and just today, we heard that Solarism Display is introducing its line of ultra-bright 15" TFT-LCD monitors. The LM1503 is built with Solarism's patented backlight technology, called ABT (Advanced Brightness Technology). The new display gives you a 800cd/m2 (candelas per square meter) brightness and has a 350:1 contrast ratio and a maximum resolution of 1024x768, with a response time ranging from 13-27ms. Solarism says the LM1503 is "sunlight friendly" because it can be used in any environment without losing much visibility. The display supports 16.7 million true colors and comes with an S-video and audio input and two built-in speakers in the front bezel. The LM1503 TFT-LCD monitor will be available beginning in late August 2001, and is backed by a three-year warranty on parts, labor, and backlight. Now, you can play games with your sunglasses on, Cool Breeze.
