Solar storm subsides
A second coronal mass ejection, rather than adding to the huge geomagnetic storm that produced Northern-hemisphere auroras Friday night as far south as Mexico, countered the first CME. It also moderated fears that blackouts that occurred Friday on high-frequency radio channels and low-frequency navigational signals would worsen and spread to communications satellites.
