SoftStream launches $249 PC

SoftStream Corp. has announced the xStream PC line of low cost personal computers, starting as low as $249.
In the seven days since its initial product launch, the startup company claims it has sold more than 40,000 StreamBook low cost notebook computers.
The new xStream PC line is billed as offering flexibility and quality components that exceed its competitors in even the highest tiers of the sub-$600 PC arena.
The customizable xStream PCs are available in 300MHz, 366MHz and 400MHz models ranging in price from $249 to $599, including monitor.
All systems include 30 days of free Internet access and 90 days of free access to SoftStream, "the first Internet-based thin client commercial software network," providing users instantaneous access to thousands of popular software applications.
The Company will begin taking pre-orders through its web site at http://www.adspider.com starting April 21 for the May 25 inaugural shipment of 300,000 systems.
