SofaWare Introduces S-box Security Appliance
Your broadband line connects you to the world, but it also has the side effect of connecting the world to you. That's why many people choose to install a firewall. SofaWare Technologies just unveiled its new SofaWare S-box, a security appliance for home office and general home computer Internet security that's priced under $300. The SofaWare S-box runs Check Point-based Safe@Home software and can be deployed in homes with DSL or cable Internet access. The 4-port 10/100 compatible gadget integrates optional URL filtering and email anti-virus protection and Check Point says it can be installed in 5 minutes by non-technical users (hope they've got good tech support). Versions of the S-box will integrate into Check Point's enterprise security infrastructure for small remote office environments, and will be licensed to multiple home networking/appliance vendors.
