SMC Announces New 10/100/1000 Managed Switch
SMC today announced the newest addition to its TigerSwitchT line of business networking products, the SMC8612T 10/100/1000 Managed Switch. "Available immediately at an MSRP of $1199, the new SMC8612T switch has 12 fixed 10/100/1000 ports and four mini GBIC expansion slots for optional fiber Gigabit connections. At its best in demanding, high-traffic environments, the SMC8612T races ahead of the pack to move data at speeds up to 24Gps. Based on the same platform as the 24-port TigerSwitch 10/100/1000 8624T, it is perfect for smaller enterprise workgroup or backbone switching applications."
