SMC adds tri-mode Cardbus card
SMC Networks
today announced
its SMC2336W-AG EZ Connect Universal 2.4GHZ/5GHz Wireless CardBus Adapter
. The tri-mode, dual-band (a/b/g) adapter uses Atheros' 5100X chipset
and will be available at the end of March
, at a $100
suggested list.SMC joins NETGEAR and Linksys in what is shaping up to be almost a clean sweep for Atheros in a/b/g CardBus client design-ins. Only D-Link so far appears to have chosen a different route, given their absence of support for Atheros' tell-tale 802.11a "Turbo" mode.
