SMC adds enterprise-grade b/g AP
SMC Networks yesterday announced its enterprise-grade SMC2552W-G EliteConnect 2.4GHz 802.11g Wireless Access Point.
The new AP features configurable output transmit power, upgradable antennas and support for 802.3af Power over Ethernet. Management options include web browser, command line, SNMP and SMC’s EliteView Management Software.
Security features include Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), up to 152-bit WEP and AES encryption, MAC address authentication, open/share authentication, disabled SSID broadcast, and up to 16 virtual LANs.
Authentication options include 802.1x (MD5, EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, session key and broadcast key rotation, and PEAP), and support for FUNK Odyssey and Microsoft RADIUS Server. The AP also includes a Kensington security slot.
The SMC2552W-G will be available in late March 2004, at a suggested list of $440.
