SMC adds a/b/g Enterprise AP

SMC Networks today announced this week’s start of shipments of its SMC2555W-AG EliteConnect 2.4GHz/5GHz Universal Wireless Access Point .

The new AP handles 802.11a, b and g standards for up to 64 simultaneous users, each of which can be on its own virtual LAN (VLAN).

The SMC2555W-AG’s management options include Web and command-line interfaces (via Telnet ) as well as SMC’s EliteView Management Software for SNMP
- based management.
Authentication encryption and security options include WPA, 64 / 128 / 152-bit (11a only) WEP encryption, 802.1x authentication (MD5, EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, PEAP) and dynamic key management support for FUNK Odyssey and Microsoft RADIUS servers, MAC address authentication, and SSID broadcast disable.

Other features include two dual-band antennas, RP-MMCX connector for attachment of higher gain 2.4GHz (11b/g) antennas, 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) support, and Kensington security slot.

The product is available now as low as $487 street.
