SMC, Belkin give nod to Z-Com for draft-11g manufacture
DigiTimes today reported that Belkin and SMC have given orders to WLAN OEM Z-Com for manufacture of draft-802.11g products. The story also reported that the cards would use Intersil's 802.11g chipsets.This report is consistent with recent announcements from SMC and Intersil, but would signal a change in Belkin's strategy. Belkin currently uses Broadcom's AirForce chipset for its "54g" draft-802.11g WLAN product line.
