SIS Announces Dual-Channel DDR Chipset
Silicon Integrated Systems has announced the first dual-channel DDR chipset in the industry for the Pentium 4, beating Intel's forthcoming Granite Bay chipset to the press punch.
The SiS655 is the first P4 chipset on the market to have dual channel DDR333 for 5.4GB per second of memory bandwidth transfer speed at an advanced 128 bit mode and concurrent 64x2 bit mode, SIS said. SIS also announced the SIS755, a chipset for AMD's 64-bit Hammer family of processors.
