SiPix Pocket Printer A6 For Pocket PC

News stories about printers because aren't generally all that interesting. This little gadget is a little less run-of-the-mill than most we see, however. SiPix just let us know that its Pocket Printer A6 now supports Pocket PCs version 2.0 to 3.1. The little battery-powered printer is available now for a suggested retail price of $149. SiPix is also currently offering a $20 rebate for all units purchased before February 28, 2002. SiPix Pocket Printer A6 supports PDAs that include Compaq's 3100 and 3600 series iPaqs, HP's 520, 540, and 560 series Jornada, and many Casio models. It features wireless infrared (IrDA) connectivity so that you need no cables if your electronic pocket notebook is so enabled. The Pocket Printer A6 lets you print content at 400 dpi and a built-in Pocket PC screen print function lets you capture a screen shot and print it by pressing the "hotkey" button. The printer doesn't use ink or toner, instead relying on thermal technology. It weighs less than 14 ounces including four AA batteries and ships with a serial printer cable, AC power adapter, 4 AA batteries, 1 roll of A6 paper, travel bag, setup CD-ROM and a manual. Packages of the A6 printer paper are available in 100 sheets or six rolls for $9.99 a package and an optional USB cable is also available for $19.99. The printer also supports notebooks with a Pentium processor or higher running Windows 98/98SE/ME/2000/XP, and any handheld running PalmOS 3.0-4.1 that is Infrared enabled and Hot Sync compatible.
