Singapore, U.S. chip testers merge
Singapore’s ST Assembly Test Services agreed to acquire U.S. Rival ChipPac in a $1.6 billion stock deal. Both firms currently test and package semiconductor chips for companies such as Intel and Analog Devices. The merged company, to be headquartered in Singapore, is expected to have $1 billion in annual revenues.
