Brand new SimCity heading to the Nintendo DS
Redmond (WA) - After essentially being pushed aside for the more popular "The Sims" franchise, the pioneering open-ended game is back, with an all-new SimCity announced for the Nintendo DS.
The new game is being developed exclusively for Nintendo’s handheld platform, and as such it will incorporate the specific features available on the DS. For example, according to EA, users will be able to put out fires by blowing into the built-in microphone, and digitally signing their name on virtual documents as mayor of the city.
Tentatively titled SimCity DS, it is the first new game in the series in nearly four years, and the first new console title for the franchise since SimCity 2000.
The game is slated for a release some time this summer. Pricing details were not announced.
