Silicon (Valley) thefts on rise again
Concerted police efforts four years ago nearly ended the organized theft of chips in Silicon Valley. A new set of criminals, however, have found ways of circumventing the complex precautions implemented to protect shipments of electronic components. Many component merchants report widespread fear in the Valley and REACT, the multi-agency Rapid Enforcement Allied Computer Team, is reportedly adding personnel to the task force to meet the new challenge.
