Shuttle rolls out Core 2 Duo SFF computer
City of Industry (CA) - Shuttle has rolled out their newest small form factor computer built specially for Intel’s Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme processors. Running the 975X Express chipset, the Shuttle P2 3700 can support up to 8 GB of RAM and four hard drives. There’s even enough space to dual PCI Express graphics cards.

Graphics and audio buffs will appreciate the extra PCI Express slots and the HD audio chip. Two x16 PCI Express slots are available and buyers can configure dual ATI X1900GT CrossFire cards for extra graphical power. The P2 3700 also has an Intel HD Audio chip that supports Dolby PC Entertainment audio. Surround sound outputs are on the back panel of the chassis.
Even though the Intel Core 2 Duo promises to use less electricity than previous generation chips, you’re still going to need power for all the extra stuff in the Shuttle box and 400 watt PSU is included with the P2 3700. The computer uses Shuttle’s Integrated Cooling Engine which separates the interior into cooling zones and blasts hot air out of the back and side vents.
The Shuttle P2 3700 is currently available on the Shuttle website with prices starting at $1450.
