Shuttle launches mini-barebones PC systems
Mobo vendor Shuttle is launching mini-barebones systems based on P4s and Athlons. The P4 mini-barebone system product will be sold at US$350 per unit in the clone market, and the Athlon one at US$335. Over the years PC enthusiasts and the sites they read on the Web have helped to give the Taiwanese mobo vendors greater exposure and presence in the channel. So, more and more we're going to see them try and slice up a bigger piece of the pie for themselves. Interesting stuff, and it should scare some of the major PC OEMs.
