Shuttle exhibits at Computex two new small form factor (SFF) PCs that target users that either expect low power consumption or high performance.

A prototype of the upcoming Shuttle 1165 supports Intel’s Pentium M processors in combination with the 915 GM chipset. The device will integrate a 24-bit Sound Blaster Live with 7.1 channel audio output and Gigabit LAN and IEEE1394 connectivity. The prototype showed well enough performance for everyday applications and may be an interesting alternative for office PCs in tight spaces.

The 1165 will ship in the fourth quarter of this year. Pricing has not been announced.

Shuttle will also add a SFF PC for the performance oriented crowd. The SN26P is based on Nvidia’s nForce4 SLI chipset and comes bundled with two GeForce 6800 GT cards. The system is cooled by using heat pipes that lead to a heat exchanger at the back of the device. Higher end GeForce6 cards such as 6800 Ultras are not supported because insufficient power provided by the power supply unit (400 watts).

Shuttle did not mention any pricing details, but for sure this PC won’t be cheap. Expect the PC to be priced above $3000. (THG)
