SGI, Nvidia Settle Differences
SGI has dismissed its patent-infringement suit against graphics chip maker Nvidia.
With hostilities settled, the two companies now plan to join forces in developing new graphics technologies.
As part of the new alliance, Nvidia has licensed SGI's enabling 3-D graphics patent portfolio, while SGI has licensed Nvidia's patent portfolio. Further terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
