Sen. Hatch calls for DMCA hearing
US Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch has announced a hearing titled "Online Entertainment and Copyright Law: Coming Soon to a Digital Device Near You." While Hatch was a co-author of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, he has recently come down on the side of Napster and other online providers of digital entertainment. The event is scheduled for April 3.
In a related article, observers voice concerns that current trends in copyright law could result in the end of even commonly practiced fair-use copying.
Information about the hearing is at newsBytes.com. The larger digital copyright article is at usatoday.com.
