Sega to cut Dreamcast price in half
Sega Corp. says it will halve prices on the canceled Dreamcast game console in both the United States and Japan, and is considering a similar move in Europe. The company announced that it would stop production with two million of the consoles in inventory, to be priced at 9,900 yen ($85.64) in Japan starting March 1, and at $99.95 in the United States on February 4. The consoles have always been sold at a loss to spur sales of profitable video games.
