Sega denies Dreamcast game over

Reports have, once again, appeared in the press that Sega Corp. is ready to stop manufacturing its game console hardware to concentrate on software. The Japanese Nihon Keizai Shimbun economic daily started this round of rumors with reports that Dreamcast production would end before April. Sega representatives have denied the report, insisting the company's Dreamcast plans are "huge and long term." Moreover, Sega will, according to one executive, announce a hard drive add-on and downloadable content next week. Nevertheless, many analysts persist in the belief that it is only a matter of time before Sega concentrates on video games and drops the console part of the business.
