Omid has updated his blog. Just in time for Microsoft’s nearing announcement, he raises some thoughts on Microsoft’s strategy on popularizing its game console :
When Microsoft went Xbox and became a games company, it pretty much sounded the death knell of the PC. I would hazard a guess and say that if Microsoft could, it would go further and kill the home PC as a product completely, and turn it into something like a console, ie, something that gives it a cut of everything sold on it, and is guaranteed a refresh every 5 years, irrespective of the weather, demand, or competition.
