Power Shifts To The User, Continued

Got to get me some of that good stuff. Stuff that I can enjoy. Man, was I getting bored of surfing the Web and seeing Flash animations that stood in for something happening. I want to enjoy stuff, again. Sounds kooky, but I love the shape of PCs now. Okay, so that makes me a little uncool, but I do. I like the styling, and I like what people are trying to do, if not the execution. Heck, it's about time someone tried to make the box more interesting.

I remember as a kid being into audio equipment. In my day, which wasn't that long ago, but seems like the Cro-Magnon period, in my day, it was called Hi-fi. When I got my first turntable, I was ecstatic. And, funnily enough, the other day I got an audio player from a friend of mine, and I started to get that old buzz. I listened to this thing, and I thought, "This sounds great! It's the size of a credit card, but it sounds great!" I want to know more about these things. Why should I fork over hundreds of dollars for this stuff? How do they differ in quality? How do I measure that?

Okay, so this isn't anything new, but I was seeing all this stuff for the first time, in many ways. I had become jaded, and now having had a break, I start to see the real possibilities.

I want to find out more about networking because, home networking is a big deal to me. And as for the office, it's a big pain. If you think about it, a hardware router is probably the best Firewall you can have. I want to learn more.

Digital video and audio - what do you want to see? What do you need help and information on? Consumer electronics devices - what are you connecting to your PC, and what do you want us to do to help you better understand these products? Trade show coverage - what do you want to hear about trade shows, and conferences? What are the events that you think we should be covering?
