Tom's Hardware Guide Welcomes New Columnist
On 1st May, Tom's Hardware Guide will be premiering the first in a regular series of columns titled Second Hand Smoke.
Second Hand Smoke is written by Omid Rahmat, and has appeared on www.gamasutra.com for the past 18 months. Second Hand Smoke has developed quite a following among game developers, and will now be expanding to include Tom's Hardware Guide readers. Omid will be providing business analysis of digital media markets, and expanding his traditional coverage beyond pure gaming issues to look at a broad range of digital media and multimedia technologies.
"I am very happy to be associated with Tom's Hardware Guide. It's a site that I admire, and frequent myself. I hope to bring my own unique perspective on the broader implications of the technologies that Thomas Pabst covers so well on his site." Says Omid Rahmat. "I believe that there is a need for irreverence, as well as intelligence, in reporting on this industry. If I can add to the enjoyment of visiting Tom's Hardware then, I'll be a happy man."
"Omid is a well respected analyst in the multimedia and digital video scene and his philosophical thoughts about the IT-industry are always on spot." Says Tom Pabst. "Thus it's a honor to me to welcome Omid at Tom's Hardware Guide. I look forward to reading his Second Hand Smoke column at www.tomshardware.com and I am sure you will enjoy it as well even if you shouldn't understand Omid's humorous Latin quotes.
