SDRAM prices remain on a downtrend
Prices for low-density SDRAM chips used in consumer-electronic devices may continue to plummet in the fourth quarter, amid increasing supply, according to sources with IC distributors.
According to the sources, the supply increase is a result of Samsung Electronics’ migration from SDRAM production at a 0.18-micron node to a 0.11-micron process node. The sources also indicated that Samsung may start producing at a 90nm node in 2005
