Savage4 racks up design wins
S3's AGP 4X solution has scored a major design win with one of the top five PC OEMs for systems. The graphics company says the Savage4-equipped systems are expected to ship in the first half of 1999.
Number Nine Visual Technology will manufacture the Savage4-based add-in-cards to be shipped directly to the PC manufacturer.
Details on which PC OEM has chosen Savage4 through Number Nine will be available when the computer manufacturer makes its official system launch in the Spring of 1999, company officials said.
