SanDisk Corp. will supply the high capacity CompactFlash memory cards to Compaq for use in the new Aero 8000 Windows CE-based handheld PC.
Under the agreement, SanDisk will provide 20MB and 40MB cards to Compaq, which will offer the cards under the Compaq name. Compaq will also use the same cards for its Aero 2100 Color palm-sized PC. The 20MB cards will retail for approximately $92. The 40MB version will cost $165.
The Compaq Aero 8000 has an embedded slot which can hold a Type I CompactFlash card. Additionally, an external CF slot accepts CF Type II cards, which have higher capacities.
