Sharp and Samsung: LCD TV market to hit 100 million units in 2010
Samsung Electronics’ LCD business chief yesterday said global demand for LCD TVs will reach 100 million units by 2010, while his counterpart from Sharp was even more optimistic, stating that the market will grow to 150 million units in five years. The optimistic predictions were made by Sang-Wan Lee, president of Samsung’s LCD business, and Mikio Katayma, corporate executive director in charge of Sharp’s LCD business, at the FPD International in Yokohama, Japan.
