Even if the dawn of DDR2 memory is not far away, DDR memory for speeds greater than 200 MHz (DDR400 or more) will clearly continue to dominate in 2004. That's because the new technology offers few advantages at its inception and is highly priced to boot.
Samsung has recognized this and is now also offering DDR-DIMMs, which surpass the Jedec standard for PC3200. Samsung sent us four 256MB DIMMs labeled as PC3700 for the test. Don't let the CAS latency value of three clock cycles scare you off, because the modules have more zip in them than that.
