Samsung raises large-size TV panel market forecast

Samsung Electronics said it has raised the forecast for the global 40" and larger TV panel market by 2% to 6.9 million panels this year while expecting large-size panel price reductions to ease this quarter, according to the company’s presentation for the first quarter result. The company also increased its overall forecast for TV panel shipments by 10%, with Samsung now expecting global TV panel demand to reach 44 million panels, up from its original prediction of 40 million panels.
