Samsung shows off it's wares at CTIA 2008
Samsung is showcasing several of its latest global handsets at CTIA Wireless 2008, which are due to make their US debut in the not too distant future.
The Samsung Soul is the completion of the Samsung’s Ultra Edition line of handsets. Continuing the trend of the Ultra Edition’s minimalistic, design, the Soul has a full metal body with a premium finish and 12.9mm-thin form factor.
The Soul, however, isn’t just a pretty face. With Magical Touch by DaCP, navigation indicators on the keypad of the phone change according to the user’s needs, making navigation of the menus simple.
And of course, these days, no phone is complete without a camera for snapping pictures of your closest friends at opportune moments.
The Soul aside, Samsung and Adidas have teamed up to launch the miCoach phone. Specifically designed for people with an active lifestyle, the miCoach allows users to listen to music while they work out along with some handy fit-functions thrown in on top.
The handset provides an on-the-go personal training system equipped with a stride sensor and heart rate monitor, as well as training tips and time updates. It provides instant updates of heart-rate, distance, speed and how much calories you’re burning.
One thing that worries us is that the “personal coach” advises the user while they work out. Perhaps this is a really clever marketing idea on the part of Samsung and Sony because without a doubt there’ll be a ton of people hurling their phone at the wall because it’s telling them to work harder or something similar.
